I admire QE1 for her gutsiness and her My Way or The Highway attitude. In the days when women play a more submissive role in society, the ballsy queen redefined the role of a leader by inspiring her army, growing her fleet, revamping the English banking system, stremlining the church and promoted the arts (William Shakespeare, The Globe Theater). Although famously known as the Virgin Queen, QE1 is committed to her country and her people. She was a role model and continues to be one for women and leaders of today.

I recently read Yvon’s book Let My People Go Surfing and found it to be eye-opening and refreshing. His passion for nature and his forward thinking vision in protecting the environment for the generations to come is truly inspiring. As a business person, he puts his team, quality, Patagonia’s core customers, and the environment in the forefront of this thoughts and business philosophy. We could all learn a thing or two from Yvon.
